Dr. Muhammad Sabieh Anwar is Professor of physics, Ahmad Dawood Chair and Dean at the LUMS Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering. His research interests beyond quantum physics include the culture of science in the muslim world, and science education in developing economies. As part of the Khwarizmi Science Society, he leads one of the region's biggest science festivals called Lahore Science Mela which combines scientific and cultural capitals in an inviting show for thousands of visitors.

Dr. Basit Bilal Koshul is a Professor in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He joined LUMS in 2006 after teaching at Concordia College (Moorehead, MN) for four years. He earned his first PhD in 2003 from Drew University in Religion and Society (specializing in the Sociology of Religion) and the second in 2011 from the University of Virginia in Religious Studies (specializing in Theology, Ethics, Culture and Scriptural Reasoning). His areas of research include the philosophy of science, sociology of culture, philosophy of religion, philosophical theology and the contemporary Islam-West encounter. He is especially interested in integrating the insights of Muhammad Iqbal, Charles Peirce, and Max Weber.
Summary
The TCI initiative kick-started with a consultative orientation session in which both faculty and students participated. In this session the TCI team apprised the participants of the motivation behind TCI and the exciting activities that lie ahead. Various questions were posed by the participants as well as ideas and suggestions to make the initiative a success.
